Time is the greatest leveler in the universe. He or she who uses time wisely wins. Unfortunately, many have no grasp of time: they’re always late, annoying the daylights out of the punctual–at best. It’s interesting that those with no conception or appreciation of time seem to get the leftover goods time and again. Yet, they never seem to make the connection. Some even refuse to wear a watch!

Much to the consternation of traditionalists in the watch making world, the introduction of digital watches has literally changed the face of timekeeping. From the very beginning of mechanical timepiece design, clock and watch faces have featured analog movements with two hands, one showing the hour the other showing the minutes. Eventually a sweep hand was added to denote the seconds passing by.

The Story Of Hamilton Watches

The Hamilton Watch Company was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1892. It produced its first watch, designed by H.J. Cain, in 1893. (Now that is a very desirable vintage pocket watch for anyone to add to their antique pocket watches collection.) Also that year, Hamilton Watch Company introduced “The Broadway Limited”, a railroad pocket watch known for its reliability and used extensively by the railroads. It was so good, a version was adopted for the American Expeditionary Forces worldwide. A wristwatch version introduced around WWI where it was used as the timepiece of choice for many adventures – including being the first watch to scale Mount Everest, used by Admiral Byrd on his North and South Pole expeditions and by many other famous early 20th century adventurers.

Hamilton is a city situated in one of the most beautiful states of Canada, Ontario. It is a city with a bright history and even more bright future. It is said about this city that it began with romance, romance of Robert Land and his wife, who was the soldier of united empire. It is believed that he was the first settler in this part of the world after he escaped from the death sentence in Pennsylvania USA. He settled here on the edge of the lake. There are many more stories connected with this man who made this seventh heaven called “Hamilton”.
