What Was Old is New Again
Knowing a good thing when they see it, Capcom has gone to great lengths to ensure that everything that made the legendary Street Fighter II a hit in the arcades, living rooms and dormitories across the globe all those years ago has been brought back in Street Fighter IV, and this naturally starts with the characters. Fans of the franchise, as well as the fighting genre in general, will be happy to know that whether you prefer to stick with the superior abilities of top tier characters or explore the ins and outs of mid to lower level combatants, when it comes time to pick your fighter there is a wide array of choices. Also, not only will players be able to play as and against their favorite classic characters, such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Zangief, Blanka, Sagat, etc., they will also be able to take on new characters. Just a few of these include:

Abel This young French amnesiac comes from a mixed martial arts and mercenary background and is dedicated to chasing down the remnants of Shadaloo. |

Crimson Viper This tough and beautiful agent assumes a businesslike demeanor, ignoring all emotion and obligation to her fellow man. She wears a high-tech suit filled with deadly gadgetry.. |

El Fuerte This fighter divides his time between perfecting his Lucha Libre skills and his cooking abilities, yet surprisingly his indomitable spirit is a match for even the legendary Red Cyclone. |

Rufus This portly fighter has declared himself America’s greatest fighter and uses his own brand of Kung Fu in his decidedly one-sided rivalry with Ken for top dog in the States. |

New Combat Features: Focus Attacks and Ultra Combos
Although Street Fighter IV is designed to draw heavily from past game features in its franchise history, it does offer some stunning new gameplay options. The first of these are Focus Attacks. These moves allow players to absorb the energy from an attack and quickly counter with their own. Used properly, Focus Attacks allow for tremendous flexibility during combat and are the end result of efforts by the game’s development team to evolve combat away from the rigid memorization of set combination patterns, giving players the freedom to be creative against opponents. The other new combat feature are new powered up moves called Ultra Combos. Like standard combos their purpose is to unleash maximum damage on an opponent, but unlike the combos of old, when performed correctly these long strings of punches, kicks and moves result in changes to the in-game camera angle and quick cinematics which illustrate the strength of your skills like never before. Taken together, these two new features herald Street Fighter IV as the new king of the fighter genre and a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

I’m rating this game 1 star because Capcom didn’t give us a demo.
I live in a place where it is impossible to get to a game rental store and I don’t have a car. So unless the game is horrible there is no reason to make demos available for us. I buy all my games from Amazon.com, so I must make sure that I like the game before I buy it and the only way to do that is by playing the demo.
I see the 5 star reviews but I really find them unreliable, cause one I bought headphones according to the amazing reviews but the headphones really almost ruined my ears and left me deaf and I returned them on the same day I got them, so the only find the one star reviews reliable.

I cannot believe someone recommended Street Fighter 4 to me. I feel profoundly tricked and cheated.
The first thing you will notice is that the game’s configuration options are unbelievably overcomplicated, and if you don’t understand them (which no one does), the default settings make it easy for anybody on the Internet to hijack your PS3 and erase any progress you may have been in the middle of.
But beyond that, the bottom line is that most of the characters and special moves are STILL completely unchanged from back when I played the same stupid game on my SNES 15 years ago. Sure, they threw in some time-wasting cut scenes with some remarkably bad voice acting (even by video game standards), but there is absolutely nothing new that anyone would actually want.
It should be illegal to call a game a “sequel” without adding anything new. It’s like they are trying to see how many times they can make you pay for the same thing. Please don’t buy Street Fighter 4.

I think I have seen better graphics on Playstation 1 games. The moves are cheap as ever and this game has too few characters to choose from. The soundtrack is horrid with a R&B singer doing the intro. This game is a pathetic attempt at a game by Capcom, especially for their flagship franchise. Needless to say there have been some really excellent fighting games in the Street Fighter series such as EX 1 + 2, Super Street Fighter 2, Marvel VS Street Fighter, etc. This is one of the worst I have seen.

Dont get me wrong this is a good not great game with flaws but I only give it 1 star because there’s nothing but Street Fighter 2 characters on here with the exception of a few Alpha and new characters. Where’s the assigned stages for each character? What happen to all the special moves that each character used to have which is like at least 3 instead of just 2 and some characters used to have like 4 or 5 like Akuma! Street Fighter franchise in all aspects is the best fighting game of all time and part 3 along with Alpha 3 was the best ever made in my opinion because it stood out and different from the rest. The same with Capcom vs Snk 2 was the best rival game capcom has made. Where’s Elena,Ibuki,Makoto,Hugo,Dudley,Akex,Yun and Yang,Remy,Twelve,Q,and Urien,Deejay,Eagle? At least Elena,Ibuki,Makoto,Hugo,Dudley and Eagle should of made the cut or even some ex characters should of made the cut like Karen even though the ex series were disappointing. How come Capcom want ever release another version of Fighting Evolution to redeem itself over the disappointing first one? Where’s Capcom vs Snk 3? I just hope this game is not the only version and hope to see future upgraded versions with more depth and characters just like in the past with previous Street Fighter games and also hope this is a fresh start from the dead with more rival games in the near future
